FAQs

We work with real estate professionals and other experts to determine the value of your property. If it's lower than the assessed value by the county, we submit the appropriate reviews and appeals to the county assessors and review boards to lower the assessed value. We handle everything from start to finish, so you can sit back and let us do the work.

Most homeowners can typically realize several thousand dollars in annual property tax savings. Each property is different, so sign up below and see how much you could save.

If we are successful with your appeal, you only have to pay us a one-time fee based on your actual realized tax savings for the current tax year and any prior tax years. You are not obligated to continue using our service for future years and will not be charged for future years unless you engage our service again.

Property tax assessments are determined as of January 1 of each tax year, so they don't necessarily reflect the current value of the property. A buyer and his/her agent should be looking at current market comparable sales to inform their current market valuation of the property.

We offer a referral credit of $20 for every homeowner you refer to us and who signs up with us. They receive a $20 credit as well.

You only pay if we can save you money on your property tax bill. If we're able to help you save, we will invoice you for our fee amount. You never pay anything upfront.

We charge a fee of 25% of your actual realized tax savings. If you save $1,000, our fee is $250. If we aren't able to lower your property tax bill, we won't charge you.

In most situations, you are required to file the appeal during the designated filing period (typically July 2 until either September 15 or November 30, depending on the county) for that specific tax year. However, in certain situations you can appeal for prior tax years (e.g. a change in ownership occurs which triggers a new property tax assessment). If you have any questions about whether you can file an appeal, contact our team at hello@homesteadyapp.com.
